What is the Support Committee?
The Support Committee is essential to Cadet Corps throughout Canada, representing the Army Cadet League. Comprising volunteers, the committee handles fundraising, financial management, and community recruitment. While primarily consisting of parents of current and former cadets, it's open to reputable community adults. We welcome new volunteers! Joining requires an application, criminal record check, and vulnerable sector screening.
The committee also oversees the annual budget, manages Tag Weekends, organizes corps events, runs the training night canteen, and supplies food for various activities, including FTXs. Their role is largely to offer background support to the Corps.
It's important to note that the Support Committee doesn't directly influence cadet training, planning, or evaluations. Questions about training or cadet performance should be directed to corps officers, preferably post-training sessions.
Please consider volunteering your time to the Support Committee of the 1882 Wellington Rifles!
